This invitation suite was inspired by its venue, The Overlook House, a 1920s tudor-style home in Portland, Oregon. Baz Lurhmann’s film The Great Gatsby, released the same summer, ushered in a resurgence of Art Deco popularity. The Overlook, built in the same era the film was set, made it an even more appropriate pairing. We discovered a vellum embedded with iridescent confetti, made it the foundation piece, (a nod to “large party” references in the film) it inspired the palette, and all 7 pieces of the suite coordinated with it.
